Pre-event of “Boso Triennale Art x Mix 2027
As a pre-event for 2027, this year we will hold a 5-day program of artworks and events for you to enjoy. In addition to the permanent works that have been created up to now, new works will be unveiled earlier in the year! Workshops by artists and the popular “Sports Day for Rice Balls,” an event that has continued since 2014, will also be held in each area.
(1) Viewing of artworks ( about 40 pieces)

General ¥1,000 (unlimited admission for 5 days), Free for high school students and younger
A separate conservation fee (300 yen for junior high school students and older, 100 yen for elementary school students) is required for Crookfields.

2) EAT & ART TARO “A Sports Day for Onigiri!


This is an athletic event designed by food artist EAT&ART TARO to make eating onigiri even more delicious. Participants were divided into teams and engaged in radio calisthenics, ball tossing, tug-of-war, onigiri korogashi, bread-eating contests, and more. After the heated competition among various generations, onigiri with regional characteristics will be served. This work has been held continuously since “Ichihara Art x Mix” in 2014.

General ¥1,000, Elementary and junior high school students ¥500, Free for preschool children (no food provided)

Participants on March 29 can see the artworks in the venue only at the former Heizo Elementary School without a common ticket.
Participants will be notified if the event is cancelled due to rain.
(3) Hands-on workshops with artists
Yasushi Mori “Workshop for burying artworks in the soil

Join us for an experience of digging a hole, burying a work of art to be dug up one year later.
Dates: March 28 (Sat) and 29 (Sun), 10:00-16:00
Venue: Former Satomi Elementary School (541-1 Tokuji, Ichihara City)

Kentaro Yanagi “Let’s make glass cloud-shaped objects!

Using the technique of glassblowing, we will create a cloud-shaped object. You can take home your finished work on the day of the exhibition.

(4) Otaki goods (collaborative event)


We will be exhibiting a workshop booth at Otaki Kids, an art festival where visitors can experience art at Otaki Castle. There will also be other booths at the venue, including a marché, job experience for children, and a booth for consultation on problems.

SATOMI HIROBA (in former Satomi Elementary School)


SATOMI HIROBA, located in the former Satomi Elementary School, is both a café-restaurant and a work of food artist EAT & ART TARO. The space has a retro warmth with elementary school desks and chairs, and is a place to take a breather in between visits to the artworks. Coffee and other drinks will be served at the pre-event.

Yamadori Coffee (in Tsukide Kosha)


This roasting shop café was renovated from a former elementary school staff room. Using coffee beans roasted in the Tsukide Kosha, the cafe offers hand-drip coffee, teppan Neapolitan coffee, and hardened coffee shop pudding with espresso caramel. There are also baked goods from a local old house bakery. Please enjoy a relaxing time while admiring the satoyama scenery.

KURKKU FIELDS DINING (in Kurkku Fields)



A baton of deliciousness delivered straight from the farm to your table.
Crookfields’ dining menu features a variety of fresh ingredients, including organic vegetables and herbs grown onsite, charcuterie, eggs from heirloom chickens, and freshly made cheeses from the dairy farm. You will enjoy a variety of seasonal flavors freshly picked from the Crookfields landscape.

5) Call for supporters for pre-event
The “Boso Triennale Art Festival Art x Mix 2027” pre-event will be the first event for the main festival, welcoming visitors with a limited showing of artworks, a field day for onigiri (rice balls), and much more. We are looking for supporters who can help support the operation. No special knowledge or experience is required. You can participate in supporter activities on a daily basis.
0Reception and venue support for art works
Reception of artworks at the exhibition venue, guiding and directing visitors, etc.
Number of applicants: Approximately 20 people each day
Hours: 8:00-17:00 (artwork open to the public from 10:00-16:00)
Location: Various locations in Ichihara City and Kisarazu City
(The location of the activity will be announced a few days prior to the date of the activity, based on the details of the application.
